Just like a serum or Moisturizer, a face mask is a skin care vehicle that delivers highly concentrated actives, vitamins and nutrients to the skin to improve it’s overall health.

They are also occlusive as they create a physical barrier that locks in beneficial ingredients that hydrates and improves skin texture.

It comes in various textures and forms namely:
*Clay mask
*Exfoliating mask
*Cream mask
*Gel mask
*Sheet mask
*Splash mask

Let’s discuss a few effective and tested versions you can make from the comfort of your home.

1.The Breakfast Mask
Combine one egg yolk, one tablespoon of honey and one tablespoon of Olive oil
2.Stir well and apply to your face for 15-20 minutes
3.Rinse with lukewarm water and then Moisturize.

The Stress Relief Mask
*In a blender, mix one tablespoon of oat powder, Four tablespoons of Chamomile powder, four tablespoons of Kaolin clay and one tablespoon of turmeric powder
*Store mixture in a clean jar. When ready to use, scoop one tablespoon of the mixture into a small bowl and activate it by adding one tablespoon of full fat plain yoghurt and one tablespoon of raw, unfiltered honey.
Stir the mixture until it reaches a creamy consistency.
*Apply to your skin and let sit for 15-20 minutes
*Remove with Lukewarm water
Moisturizing for this is optional

The Brightening Turmeric Mask
*Mix one tablespoon of Turmeric and one tablespoon of honey to make a smooth blend.
*Apply the mask mixture to your clean dry face and leave for 15-20 minutes
*Rinse with lukewarm water and seal the goodness with a moisturizer of choice
