According to reports, a Nigerian guy who just started a 5-day marathon from Lagos to Port Harcourt in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record ended himself in the hospital.
Wene, a young Nigerian who embarked on a remarkable five-day marathon race from Lagos to Port Harcourt with the aim of breaking the Guinness World Record, seems to have encountered some difficulties.
Promise’s ambitious journey, which began at the Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos on October 17, aimed to set a new Guinness World Record, spanning a remarkable 606 kilometers from the city of Lagos to Port Harcourt.
However, Promise’s journey took an unexpected turn, resulting in his hospitalization. He took to his Facebook page to share an update, revealing his difficult situation: “Unimaginable pain. I give everything time, distance? Time. Scars? Time. Disbelief? Still, time. Until then, Wene is home!”
While details of his condition remain undisclosed, his followers and well-wishers have expressed their concern, sending their thoughts and prayers for his speedy recovery.
Despite the adversity Promise faced on his marathon journey, he had embarked on this endeavor with unwavering determination. His mission to set a Guinness World Record for the longest distance covered on foot captured the attention and support of many.
Promise had encouraged others to join him in what appeared to be an insurmountable challenge that set out from the Lekki Toll Gate at 4:00 am on October 17.
Promise was greeted by enthusiastic onlookers who cheered him on as he made his way to Port Harcourt. Residents of the city celebrated his arrival, and he received a warm welcome at the Rivers State Government House.
Governor Siminalayi Fubara extended his appreciation to the young marathoner. He commended Promise’s courage and dedication to his record-breaking attempt, encouraging other youths to channel their energy into meaningful endeavors. The Governor also pledged to do something special for Promise on Monday.
The Governor expressed his excitement at the positive spotlight Promise’s incredible adventure had cast on the state, especially in the face of recent stories of insecurity.
However, as of now, the Guinness World Record has not issued a statement or reaction in response to Promise’s marathon attempt.
