  • Tragic End for UNIPORT Student Justina, Allegedly Murdered by Boyfriend for Rituals in Rivers

A 300-level student of Biological Chemistry, Justina Otuene Nkang, met a tragic end in the home of her boyfriend. The incident occurred on NTA Road in Mgbuoba, within the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Justina, who was undergoing her industrial training at a private hospital in the D/Line area of Port Harcourt, had been reported missing for about four days. It is alleged that her boyfriend, known simply as Collins, was attempting to dispose of her dismembered body when he was apprehended by the local vigilante group at Radio Estate, where he resides.

The distressing sequence of events began when Justina visited her boyfriend in his apartment after work and mysteriously disappeared. Shockingly, her decomposing body was discovered with some body parts, including her breasts and private parts, missing.

The Rivers Commissioner of Police, Nwonyi Polycarp Emeka, has confirmed the arrest of the alleged boyfriend Demian Okoligwe, a 400-level Petrochemical Engineering student at UNIPORT, in connection with the alleged murder of Justina for ritual purposes. Okoligwe was apprehended while trying to dispose of the victim’s remains.

According to the Police Commissioner, the arrest followed a complaint from a concerned citizen who detected a foul odor emanating from Okoligwe’s apartment at Road 20, behind NTA Ozuoba. The individual promptly reported the incident to the police, leading to the discovery of a Ghana must-go bag containing Justina’s lifeless body.

The police swiftly launched a search for the suspect, Demian Okoligwe, the boyfriend of the deceased. He is a 24-year-old Petrochemical Engineering student at UNIPORT and the prime suspect in this gruesome crime.

The lifeless and mutilated body of Justina, a 20-year-old 300-level Bio-Chemistry student at UNIPORT, was recovered and taken to the mortuary. Preliminary investigations are underway, and the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a thorough inquiry.

The Rivers State Police Command has extended its condolences to the family of the deceased and cautioned young women to exercise caution when entering any form of relationship.

Initial reports had indicated that the tragic incident occurred at an estate along Road 15, NTA Road, Port Harcourt. Justina, who was on an Industrial Training assignment at a private hospital in Rukpokwu, left for her boyfriend’s place a few days prior. However, her boyfriend reportedly kidnapped her, confiscated her phones, and isolated her from the outside world.

As she was declared missing and her photos circulated on social media, it was alleged that Demian Okoligwe, suspected of being involved in internet fraud, had brutally murdered Justina and retained her dismembered corpse in his apartment for several days, possibly for money-making rituals.

The horrifying revelation came to light when a private security guard at the estate noticed Okoligwe with a suspicious bag that later turned out to contain the remains of Justina, with vital organs like her breasts, eyes, and private parts missing. The security guard’s alarm alerted local vigilantes in the area, leading to Okoligwe’s arrest and the recovery of the still-bloodied corpse.
